Launched in 2004, civil defence assistance is a major partnership in the field of state-to-state cooperation between Burkina Faso and the Principality of Monaco. By mutual agreement with the Monaco Fire and Emergency Service, it has been proposed that this partnership should be renewed, for the following reasons:
- Continuation of the work of the Bilateral Commission for Cooperation with Burkina Faso and strengthening of the partnership in a sector where the Principality’s competence and presence are recognised by the partner state and by actors in the sector
- Development of the Burkina Faso National Fire Brigade (six regions covered by firefighting teams, out of Burkina Faso’s total of 13, including the most recent in Boromo, in 2014)
- Impact of Monaco’s technical and financial support
Overall objective
To support the Government of Burkina Faso in the field of civil defence.
Beneficiaries

Members of the National Fire Brigade (1,200 people).
