Context
The Prince’s Government and the the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta are bound by a framework cooperation agreement signed in 2012.
In 2004, the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta launched a programme to provide assistance to isolated elderly people that the Prince’s Government was keen to support, since Lebanon has long been a country targeted by Monaco’s Official Development Assistance.
Main objective
To promote the health, socialisation and independence of 950 elderly people in day centres in Kefraya (Beqaa Valley) and Roum (Southern Lebanon).
Specific objectives
- To provide access to healthcare services for 950 elderly people in Kefraya and Roum
- To prevent the social isolation and withdrawal of 950 elderly people in Kefraya and Roum
- To enable 950 elderly people to retain their independence in Kefraya and Roum
Beneficiaries
950 elderly people who make use of day centres in Kefraya and Roum.
