Launched in 2017 by the Development Campus run by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), a long-standing partner of the Monegasque Cooperation, the aim of SIBC is to help entrepreneurs having a strong impact on the African continent scale up their implementation procedures including measuring performance and preparing fundraising activities. Since its first edition, close to 150 entrepreneurs have been offered support.

The launch of this fourth edition, significantly impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, which has highlighted the urgent need for our society to focus on environmental issues and social inclusion, is scheduled for the beginning of September. It will consist of three months of remote coaching and a week’s bootcamp onsite in Marseille at the AFD campus.

The course will place emphasis on innovation in research and the invention of sustainable models in order to obtain a strong social impact in Africa, in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals.

Any legally registered social business that is able to justify at least 3 years’ experience and a turnover or a medium term profitability objective, with a positive and innovative social impact in Africa and keen to move to broad-scale implementation, is eligible.
