Launch of a call for projects “Supporting youth in the Western Mediterranean”

On 15th April, the Government of Monaco (Office of International Cooperation), the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (Interministerial Delegation for the Mediterranean and Delegation for civil society relations and partnerships) in partnership with the European Institute for Cooperation and Development (IECD) launched a call for projects to support youth in the Western Mediterranean.

Civil society organisations in Algeria, France, Italy, Libya, Malta, Morocco, Mauritania, Monaco, Portugal, Spain and Tunisia are invited to submit their proposals for the benefit of Mediterranean youth in the fields of education, vocational training, socio-economic integration, mobility and the social and solidarity-based economy.

This novel call for projects is part of the momentum launched by the Summit of the Two Shores which identified the MedNC network in June 2019; and within the context of the “Commitments for a new ambition in the Mediterranean” made by Ministers of Foreign Affairs from the 10 countries of the 5+5 dialogue.

The initiatives will be introduced by a civil society organisation on the Southern shore (Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Tunisia) in partnership with a civil society organisation on the Northern shore (France, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Spain) including the Principality of Monaco.

Within the specific context of the global Covid19 pandemic, the call for projects will support initiatives that focus on crisis/post-crisis support in the chosen themes.

This call for projects closes at midnight (Paris time) on Sunday 31st May.
